PartnerX is hiring on behalf of our client, an established global multi-manager hedge fund. We are supporting multiple portfolio manager positions across four areas: TMT, Healthcare, Quant and Index. These portfolio manager jobs in Dubai and London are open to proven investors who want to run their own book on a platform built around PM-led teams.
Our client allocates capital to specialist PM teams. Each team seeks returns from skill rather than market direction, with low net exposure and tightly managed risk.
The areas we are hiring in
- TMT (Technology, Media & Telecom): Fundamental long/short equity portfolio managers covering the technology, media and telecom sectors.
- Healthcare: Fundamental long/short equity portfolio managers covering biotech, pharma, medtech and healthcare services.
- Quant: Systematic equity portfolio managers who run model-driven strategies, such as factor, statistical arbitrage and other quantitative approaches.
- Index: Portfolio managers running index-related strategies, such as index arbitrage, rebalancing and related relative-value approaches.
The portfolio manager role
As a portfolio manager based in Dubai or London, you will run a dedicated portfolio within the firm’s risk framework. You will:
- Generate returns that are independent of market direction, through a market-neutral or low-net book.
- Apply your area’s core discipline: bottom-up fundamental analysis for TMT and Healthcare, or research-driven systematic models for Quant and Index.
- Manage portfolio construction, position sizing, liquidity and hedging.
- Build and lead your own PM team, including analysts, researchers or developers.
- Manage risk within agreed limits, drawdown parameters and investment guidelines.
- Work closely with the firm’s research, risk, technology and operations teams.
- Keep regular, open dialogue with platform leadership on performance and risk.
About you
You are a specialist with a record of running capital successfully. You will have:
- A demonstrable, verifiable track record running a market-neutral or low-net portfolio in your area.
- For TMT and Healthcare: deep sector knowledge and strong valuation and equity market skills.
- For Quant and Index: strong quantitative research and modelling skills, and the technical ability to build and run systematic strategies.
- Proven risk discipline and experience working within risk management frameworks.
- A background at a hedge fund, multi-manager platform, asset manager or sell-side principal strategies or proprietary desk. Senior sub-PMs running a carve-out with a verifiable track record are also welcome.
- An entrepreneurial, collaborative approach to building a team.
