We are recruiting a Nursery Manager for an established and growing nursery group in Glasgow, committed to providing high-quality early years education in safe, nurturing, and well-resourced environments.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and confident Nursery Manager (Glasgow) to take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and operational management of the nursery. You’ll oversee curriculum delivery and daily routines, lead and develop staff teams, ensure high standards of safeguarding and compliance, and build strong relationships with children and their families.
The role is fully on-site and offers the opportunity to play a key part in maintaining quality, supporting staff development, and contributing to the nursery’s continued growth and improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day management and operations of the nursery.
- Oversee curriculum delivery, daily routines, and the provision of safe and engaging early years education.
- Lead, support, and develop staff through coaching, supervision, and regular performance reviews.
- Manage staff rotas, workloads, and team performance effectively.
- Ensure all safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory requirements are consistently met.
- Maintain and implement nursery policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Support the professional development and ongoing training of nursery staff.
- Manage nursery budgets, resources, and day-to-day operational requirements.
- Support enrolment and occupancy planning to help maintain the nursery’s performance.
- Build strong and positive relationships with children, parents, families, and external stakeholders.
- Maintain a high-quality environment that supports children’s learning, development, and wellbeing.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working within a nursery or early years environment, with a strong understanding of childcare and nursery operations.
- Proven experience in a nursery management or senior leadership role, including staff supervision and team development.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection, with up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations and best practices.
- A relevant early years qualification, such as an SVQ, HNC, or equivalent.
- Good knowledge of national early years frameworks and relevant inspection standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Experience with rota planning, performance management, budgeting, and resource management.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and remain calm under pressure.
- A confident and supportive leadership style with a genuine commitment to children’s learning, development, and wellbeing.
- Previous supervisory or management experience within a childcare or education setting is highly desirable.
