Role Overview – Recruitment Agency Manager

We seek an experienced Recruitment Agency Manager to lead and grow our UK-based recruitment operations. You will be responsible for managing all facets of the recruitment agency business today and scaling it for tomorrow. You will:

  • Oversee daily agency operations, team performance, and candidate lifecycle management.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract, retain, and place top talent across multiple sectors.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients (companies needing hires) and manage service quality, delivery and satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with UK employment law, immigration regulations (where applicable), and best practices in recruitment.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of recruiters, sourcers, sales/business development staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and deliver revenue targets, margin goals, and client acquisition objectives.
  • Design effective recruitment strategies (sourcing, screening, interviewing, onboarding) for both permanent and contract roles.
  • Ensure outstanding candidate experience and employer branding.
  • Manage and monitor key metrics: time-to-hire, fill rates, client satisfaction, retention of placed candidates, and financial performance.
  • Oversee budget, resources, tools, and technology needed for recruitment operations.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing a recruitment or staffing agency, OR equivalent leadership in high-volume recruitment / people operations.
  • Strong business development and client relationship management skills.
  • Thorough working knowledge of UK employment legislation, immigration rules (if hiring foreign nationals), equality & diversity standards.
  • Excellent leadership abilities: able to manage, motivate, upskill, and retain high-performing recruitment teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to set and drive financial / growth targets.
  • Analytical mindset, comfortable using recruitment data & KPIs to inform decisions.
  • Degree (or equivalent RQF Level 6+) in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field preferred.
