Job Objective:
The Deputy Manager – Special Projects is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing construction-related special or non-revenue projects within defined timelines and budgets. The role involves acquiring necessary resources, coordinating with internal teams and third-party contractors, and ensuring quality control throughout the project lifecycle. This position serves as the key point of contact for all project phases and aligns project execution with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the delivery of special or non-revenue construction projects as directed by management.
- Ensure assigned projects (e.g., renovations, upgrades, malls, hotels, accommodation buildings) are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Provide construction-stage feedback and cost-related advice relevant to each project.
- Report on project progress, cost, and quality in accordance with contractual agreements and reporting templates.
- Represent the client’s interests during project coordination and issue resolution with appointed consultants and contractors.
- Manage all aspects of project development from initiation through completion.
- Define project scopes and deliverables in coordination with design and contracts teams to avoid scope gaps.
- Clearly communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Estimate required resources and team involvement to meet project goals.
- Identify and resolve conflicts or issues within the project team or with external stakeholders.
- Track project milestones, deliverables, and performance metrics.
- Prepare and deliver project reports, proposals, requirements documents, and presentations.
- Proactively manage scope changes, assess potential risks, and implement contingency strategies.
- Ensure health and safety regulations are strictly followed at the project site.
- Organize and conduct project meetings with consultants, contractors, and subcontractors as required.
- Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the Department Head or Management.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
Ensure full adherence to company policies and procedures related to health, safety, and environmental management.
Requisite Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
Experience Requirement:
Graduate: 8–10 years of experience
Post-Graduate: 7–8 years of experience
