Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Department: Finance
Job Objective:
- Support the CFO in leading the company’s budgeting, reporting, and financial compliance functions.
- Oversee the receivables’ function, ensuring timely collections and accurate financial records.
- Act as a backup for key finance functions and provide leadership to the finance team as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the annual budgeting cycle (pre- and post-budgeting), including all monthly and quarterly updates. Monitor daily purchase requisitions to ensure proper budgetary controls.
- Prepare and analyse Budget vs. Actual reports, providing justifications for deviations and KPIs performance.
- Manage and execute management reporting processes, ensuring the timely and accurate submission of financial summaries and detailed statements.
- Oversee the Accounts Receivable function:
- Monitor collection status,
- Follow up with the team,
- Organize collection meetings,
- Attend SCC meetings, and
- Ensure timely approvals and follow-up actions.
- Ensure financial compliance with applicable regulations, internal policies, accounting manuals, and maintain the chart of accounts.
- Coordinate financial closing activities and budget submissions to meet all internal and external deadlines.
- Participate in internal audits, review and update financial policies and procedures in alignment with IFRS and business needs.
- Act as a backup for senior managers in audit-related functions and VAT compliance matters.
- Support other financial management duties as assigned by the CFO and work closely with senior finance staff to ensure accuracy and timeliness across the department.
- Coach and mentor junior team members, contributing to their technical and professional development.
- Contribute to automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce manual processes within the finance function.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Professional certification: CA / ACCA / CPA.
- Certification in IFRS is required.
Experience:
- 5–10 years of progressive experience in budgeting, reporting, and compliance, preferably within the real estate or construction sectors.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and financial systems.
- Strong experience in financial reporting and analysis.
